Hi Nerd Nation,

It seems even the Family Circus is getting in on the Nerd Debate. The strip (circle?) in today’s newspaper (Nov. 7, 2011) was Jeffy saying to someone, “Billy just called me a nerd. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?”

Oh Jeffy, what a simple question that has sparked such debate! I think it’s a good thing!

But as I posted previously, some people, including some of my close friends, do not like to be labeled as nerds. Here’s a link to the Great Nerd Debate.

P.S. A very sad footnote on this, just one day after I posted this, Bil Keane, the originator of the Family Circus, passed away. Growing up, I bought books of the Family Circus cartoons and read them over and over. I am very thankful to Bil Keane for creating a comic that featured kids, since it introduced me to the world of the newspaper comic strips, which I look forward to every morning.
